Fall & Spring Semesters 2026/2027

Fall 2026

Monday, August 31, 2026 – Sunday, January 24, 2027

Spring 2027

January 25, 2027 – June 20, 2027

During the academic school year our rates are tuition based. You will be billed for just 19 of the 21 weeks each semester, which allows for vacations and/or 2 cancellations. For students starting mid-semester, tuition will be pro-rated.

Any or all make up lessons must be taken DURING the semester and may not be carried over to the following semester.

Only two cancellations and make-up lessons are permitted. We do not provide refunds for missed lessons from current or prior semesters.

Please note that the only holidays during Fall and Spring semester which the studio is closed are Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If your lesson falls on any other holiday and you do not attend (cancelling with 24 hrs notice), it will count towards one of your two possible lessons eligible for a make-up.

The music fee covers all book selections throughout the semester. The first set of books for a 5 year old is approximately $23.00. This enables us to select appropriate music books and not have to invoice you each time. Most students will spend between $50 and $100 per year on music books. The fee is waived if you spent less than $25 of last year's fee. Music provided for other instruments will be added to your monthly invoice.

Studio Policies

Please read all policies carefully before enrolling.

Cancellations & Make-Up Lessons

Only TWO cancellations and make-up lessons are permitted per semester. Make-up lessons must be taken DURING the semester and may not be carried over. We do not provide refunds for missed lessons.

The ONLY holidays the studio is closed are Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If your lesson falls on any other holiday and you cancel with 24-hour notice, it counts as one of your two permitted cancellations.

Student Drop-Off & Pick-Up

Students should be dropped off no earlier than 5 minutes before their lesson and picked up no later than 5 minutes after. Please ensure their teacher is at the studio before you leave. If you’re running late unexpectedly, contact the teacher directly. The studio is only open for scheduled lessons and does not keep general hours.

Inclement Weather

If the Piano Workshop closes due to inclement weather, a virtual lesson option will be available in most cases, or a make-up will be scheduled. Often schools are closed in the morning but roads are safe by afternoon — in these cases lessons continue as scheduled. If virtual options are offered but not used, the lesson still counts toward the semester.

Teacher Cancellations

If a teacher must cancel due to a professional or personal commitment, a make-up lesson will be scheduled. In the event of sudden illness, a substitute teacher may teach your lesson without advance notice. If a substitute is offered and the lesson is declined, it will NOT be made up and will count toward the semester.

Discontinuing Lessons

Students may stop taking lessons at some point for various reasons in a semester due to illness or other unavoidable circumstances. Please make this decision thoughtfully with plenty of discussion between the teacher, parent and student so that lessons can cease with a positive sense of closure. Because tuition includes much more than just the reserved lesson time, the studio requires a one month written and paid notice. This allows time to make necessary arrangements for another student to take your usual scheduled time.

Liability, Release & Photo Policy

By registering, you release any and all rights and claims for damages against The Piano Workshop at Chester and its staff in the unlikely event of injury sustained during the course of musical activities. The Piano Workshop has no liability for damages, injuries, or misconduct occurring outside our space, including the parking lot and adjoining areas.
